About
Mana surfboards is the brainchild of Central Coast surfer/shaper Dan McManus. As the founder, owner and shaper, Dan has built the company from the ground up, after shaping his first board at the age of 15 in 1998.
While chasing a career on the Pro Jnr, WQS and then free surfing path, Dan always realised shaping was where his true passion, love and skill could shine. When a rare opportunity came to begin his own label, he took it. And Mana was born.
Dan’s focus is solely on performance custom craft and takes influence from contemporary high performance blades, mixed equally with alternate performance designs. He is relentless with the refinement and perfection of his models, channelling the feedback from his athletes and clients.
From the tiny wedge-filled beach of Frazer Park, to the heavy water reefs and beach breaks, the waves of his local region have formed Dan into a well-rounded and versatile surfer from an era that prided itself on performing from 2ft to 20ft. Dan has placed this background directly into his boards, with his model range covering the entire spectrum of performance and big wave capabilities.
