The ultimate workhorse in our range. A daily driver originally taken from the curve and outline of the M1 series and relaxed to suit a broader range of waves and surfing ability.
We lowered the overall nose and tail rocker to accommodate a more ‘groveller’ curve but still left enough for it to be very responsive and easy to surf in the pocket. The bottom remains as a single concave from nose to tail as standard to create lift, speed and drive, with a widened tail pod incorporating an exaggerated hip to rounded square tail for smooth rail transition through turns. We have had huge success also in a RT option. This boards fits directly between the SABRE and the MDM1.
Ridden 2” shorter, a 1/4” thicker, 1/4” wider and 1-1.5L more than your standard HP shortboard, this board is considered as step-down for advanced surfers or an everyday driver for the average Joe. Exceptionally fun and forgiving in any wave from 2-6ft, we recommend it in Element+ Stringered EPS/Epoxy, Raven Light Stringer-less EPS/Epoxy and standard PU. A personal, team and customer favourite.

The Foot Soldier features a deep single running form nose the tail with the deepest point sitting right between your fins. This creates hold and lift along with a large amount of squirt off the back foot due to the deepest point being between your fins. This is our fastest concave for thrusters and perfect to generate all the speed you need.
Medium Rail
NEUTRAL/PRADICTABLE
The Foot Soldier has medium full rails, providing a forgiving ride if conditions are less than ideal, but still allowing unlimited performance.
Rocker
Medium | medium
Medium entry and exit rocker, with a bigger sweet spot under front foot. Relatively flat through the middle of the board (particularly under front foot), The Foot Soldier allows added forgiveness and ease of generating speed. Late curve in the nose and tail provide an ideal balance of release and manoeuvrability to keep you surfing your best even in smaller or tricky conditions.

The Foot Soldier is our premium performance groveller for waves in the 2-5ft range. From weaker/average conditions, up to waves with decent shape and steepness, the Foot Soldier is the most versatile step-down model in our range.
Fins

The Foot Soldier comes stock and recommended as a 3 fin. Quad and Five fin setups are available with custom orders. We recommend you ride a fin size up to your standard HP shortboard due to the wider tail pod (so if you’re running mediums usually, up it to a large). Futures Jordy Med or the Futures EA Blackstix in the 2-3ft range and Futures Jordy Large in the 4-5ft range.
